First off. What should I say? The man’s a legend. He’s made his mark in music for the last 32 years. He’s also a great actor. From Boyz N The Hood, to the Friday trilogy, to Higher Learning, to Fist Fight, his acting abilities are so impressive. He just seems as though he has kept it true to himself throughout the years. He is also not afraid to shake things up politically and socially. His legacy extends to many facets of entertainment. I simply love how he raps too, it’s funny at times, serious when it needs to be and most importantly his lingo and wordplay are so natural but with so much bravado. Don’t even get me started on the Westside Connection. The two latest albums I like from Cube are Laugh Now Cry Later and Everythangs Corrupt. Both albums speak to the listener politically, the beats are incredible and the issues he covers from criminal justice, the opioid epidemic, his career, past and future Republican presidents and politicians, how he doesn’t want to be a dope dealer, his life currently, white supremacy, the list goes on and on. Cube is just great. He’s never afraid to take risks and is always outdoing himself consistently. He’s the epitome of what “keeping it real” should be. I just admire him so much for his canon of work. There’s never a dull moment with Ice Cube. He always delivers. I also think that his career has had high points and low points but for the most part it’s been pretty good, and he never stops for anything. He has always grown and learned from each experience and rolled with the punches. Thank you Cube for always expanding your empire and continuing to do what you do. If you have never seen him act I would recommend watching one of his many films. He’s hilarious! But don’t take my word for it just listen to his music or watch a flick of his. You won’t be disappointed. Cube is definitely one of my all-time favorites and I am just giving praise where it’s due. Keep on being you Cube and like a year book says, “Never Change!”
P.D.
